Just today… I spoke with a local Atlanta business owner in his 25th year in business. While he does have a website, it wasn’t was I consider “affordable website design“.

In talking about website marketing, and local search (local SEO), he was fairly familiar with the strategy of positioning himself by providing valuable information to truly help his customer base.

When I found out what he was spending every month… I got heated.

He’s spending in excess of $5,000 PER MONTH for a yellow page ad, and a website… that he doesn’t own!

Now… I used to work for the company that sold him the website, so I completely understand. There offerings were the exact opposite of affordable website design. (It’s been several years since I left them.)

It wouldn’t be so bad if that investment was providing a return on investment of 2:1 or 3:1. But it’s not. Far too many business owners are paying for websites that fail to meet the basic requirements of effective internet marketing… forget about affordable website design services.

So, here’s a real short blog post to clarify what a website should do. Bear in mind… once you launch a website… you’ve got to drive traffic to it. I recommend leaning on the 80/20 rule when it comes to budgeting for affordable website design and marketing:
